Tomas Simental Diaz, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was born on March 7, 1948, in Durango, Mexico.
Tomas was a dedicated and hardworking man. He owned a landscaping company and later worked in maintenance for over 20 years. Known for his strong work ethic and generous heart, Tomas never hesitated to lend a hand, whether or not he knew how, he would always try. He took pride in being the go-to handyman and mechanic for his family and friends.
Tomas loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing trips with his friends, and enjoyed his trips to Mexico. He enjoyed horseback riding and found great joy in tending to his horses. Boxing was also one of his favorite pastimes, especially the classics fights. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his children and grandchildren and making lasting memories with them. He loved passing down the knowledge he had gained over the years, teaching them through skills, and examples. Tomas had a sharp mind and an incredible memory, especially when it came to directions. He was amazing with Atlas maps and always seemed to know the best way to get anywhere. He was a man of wisdom, kindness, and those who knew him will never forget the compassion he showed and the legacy he leaves behind.
He is survived by his children: Thomas (Crystal), Teresa (Eduardo), Christina (Antonio), Sandra, Tony (Jasmine), Jeanna (Jason), Brianna, and Geraldo (Kristi); and by his beloved 23 grandchildren: Christian, Aleida, Hadley, Eddie, Giszelle, Andres, Jeszlynn, Ignacia, Ilario, Izayana, Illian, Jose, Lillyana, Tony, Gabriella, Yaneli, Erick, Kole, Kallen, Tony, Armando, Ava, and Adrien. He is also survived by his sisters, Lourdes Simental and Blanca Bayona, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Tomas was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Simental and Ignacia Diaz, and his beloved wife, Diane Simental.
A visitation will be held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a full Catholic Mass at 12:00 PM. Tomas will be laid to rest at Fort Howard Memorial Park following the service.
Tomas will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering kindness, tireless dedication, and the love he gave so freely.
