Ruth (Paulus) Lynd, age 87, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on October 17, 2025, with family by her side.
Ruth was born on July 8, 1938, to Harold and Isabel Paulus in Milwaukee, where she grew up. She married R. David Lynd on September 13, 1959, in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, and together they raised three daughters.
For much of her life, Ruth was a homemaker — a devoted wife and mother — who made beautiful clothes, and later created impeccable quilting projects. She worked as a cashier at local grocery stores, known for her precision and friendly smile.
Ruth found comfort in life’s simpler pleasures: tending her perennial flower gardens, watching birds, squirrels, rabbits and turkeys, baking, and reading. Her spaghetti and meatballs were legendary — so loved that there were rarely any meatballs left by dinnertime. She also cherished visiting her sister in Massachusetts many summers to celebrate their joint birthday. She cherished the company of her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
During her time at Rennes Health & Rehab in De Pere, Ruth was affectionately known as “a spitfire.” She was always cruising the halls and making friends wherever she went. Staff recall her spicey quips, her energy, and the warm smile she shared with everyone she met.
A private celebration of Ruth’s life was held on October 19 at one of her favorite restaurants. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery with her husband and daughter.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Rennes Health & Rehab in De Pere, Unity Hospice, and Malcore Funeral Home for their compassionate care of Ruth and her family.
May Ruth rest peacefully, her spirit as enduring as the perennial blooms she so lovingly tended.
