Bob grew up in Suamico, with his two sisters, Dorothy Kleanthous, Betty Maher and two brothers, Johnny, Bernard. His Mother and Father, whom he loved dearly, taught him the qualities needed for success. Bob cherished his lifelong friendships with his Pulaski High School classmates, graduating in 1952. Just before turning 18, he started his three-year service in the Navy as a Navigator during the Korean conflict, something he rarely spoke of until he returned from an Honor Flight. He was proud to help protect our liberty and freedoms. Working full time at United Airlines, going to college, and then graduating from National College of Chiropractic in 1968, he achieved his goal: Doctor. He married his high school girlfriend, Sharon (Swiekatowski) in 1958, together they were an example of love and family success in raising two children, Rob Paczkowski (Patti) from Downers Grove, IL and Lynn Flynn-Gretz (Kenlyn) of Green Bay. Bob operated a successful Chiropractic office in Menominee, MI, helping thousands of patients for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
Empathy and compassion were Bob’s two mantras. He lived his life following those ideals by caring about everyone he encountered, not just patients in his practice. A conversation with Bob would start with a flattering compliment to lift your self-esteem. The clerk at a grocery store, family members and full-on strangers felt his love through his kindness. His commitment to community, family and faith were all a part of his daily routine. Bob was involved with many organizations: Past President of Menominee Kiwanis, Past Vice President of the MI Association of Chiropractors, Past President of the Upper MI Chiropractors Association, Board member of the Menominee Historic Commission, former Board of Director of John Henes Park, Menominee MI, member of the Polish Heritage Society, the Green Bay Retired Men’s Club, and YMCA.
His grandchildren will carry on empathy and compassion in their daily lives: Daniel, David (Lindsey) and Michael (Brianna, and baby January 2021) Paczkowski along with Hannah Flynn, Grace Gretz, Eva Gretz, Mia Flynn, and Kyra Flynn.
He is preceded in death by parents John and Mary (Spychalski) Paczkowski, two brothers Bernard, Johnny, his sister Dorothy and son-in-law, Jeff Flynn. Bob was born on September 11th 1934 in Milwaukee. He died of natural causes on January 3,2021.
Per Bob, “It was a great trip and I know I’ve met some of the greatest people of the world. Thank you for being my friends.”
