Paul Sasseen Michaels, age 73, passed away on May 2, 2023. He was born on May 6, 1949, the son of the late Joseph A. Michaels and Florence A. (Nassar) Michaels.
Paul enlisted with the US Army in 1969, receiving the National Defense Services, Good Conduct, Vietnam Services and Vietnam Campaign medals. Following his service, he entered college at Syracuse University where he received his MBA. He went on to have a long career in Human Resources, finding passion in Quality Improvement Management including serving as leader of Northeast WI Total Quality Improvement Network and teaching quality improvement and change principles as an adjunct professor for many local universities.
In retirement, he found happiness spending time with his family, his grandchildren, and all the pups of the family. He loved tending to his trees, (nearly 100 that he planted) and all the birds that visited. He had a special bond with his dog, Kermee Marie (as he called him), and all the others that came after. He discovered a love of and talent for woodworking. His many hours in the workshop produced furniture and treasures for his family and friends that will continue to carry on his legacy. Sunday morning coffee and breakfast with his daughters was the highlight of his week.
Paul is survived by his children;
Karen Michaels- granddaughters Nicole and Jennifer Recka.
Amber Michaels-Schmitt, son-in-law Shannon, granddaughters Kaitlyn Michaels & Makenzie (Cesar) Amezequita. Great-grandchildren Brayden Paul, Calleigh Elizabeth, Hunter William, Marlee Amira – whom he loved to call Amira, and soon to arrive, Lionel Sasseen Amezquita.
