Mary L. Ruonavarra, born December 14, 1935, in Glen Cove, NY to Daisy & Antonio Dieosso, passed away at 88 years young on December 26, 2023.

OK, so yes, we know her ears are ringing, but we are going to talk about her anyway! Never leaving New York before, she married Robert Ruonavarra from Gay, MI on January 9, 1955.  Robert had just started his career in the U.S. Air Force and she faithfully followed him around the world. Starting with her very first plane ride to Japan, alone, with two babies to meet him there and settling in retirement in Green Bay, WI.  We do believe that's how she developed her strength and spunk!

All who knew mom were impressed with her wit, selflessness and strong love of her family & friends.  Not to mention the "look" that kept us all in line (said look has certainly been genetically passed to her two grand-daughters Sara & Kaihla as well as her niece Dina).  Mom loved to play cards & got pure enjoyment watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune (If you were lucky you might even solve the puzzle before her!)

Full of love, full of smiles & full of life until her final days, she will forever be missed and always loved by her family & friends (A true daily double Jeopardy win!).  We would like to thank Father Jim of Our Lady of Lourdes in DePere, WI and Decan Bob of St. Peter in Two Rivers, WI, for providing mom & us all with our spiritual needs.  A thank you to Carolynn at Painting Pottery for her art therapy, mom wasn't going anywhere until she painted a piece of pottery for all she loved.  A big heartfelt thank you to her hospice nurse with a halo, Ashley.  You made her laugh and you made her smile (we believe sometimes she even liked you better!).

We will be celebrating mom's life on WEDNESDAY January 10, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm with prayer service at 5:30 at the Chapel in Our Lady of Lourdes; 1305 Lourdes Ave, DePere WI.

We thank you all for your prayers, support and hugs.  In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Unity Hospice "Make A Wish".
