Mary C. Gillis, 67, Green Bay, died on December 2, 2016. Born on April 25, 1949, in Two Rivers, she is the daughter of the late Roland and Frances (Rabitz) Johnsen. On April 25, 1970, she married John “Jack” Gills at St. Joseph’s Church. Mary worked at Associated Bank and the YMCA for many years. Mary was a Girl Scout leader when she was raising the kids. She enjoyed reading, vegetable and flower gardening, and collecting Christmas ornaments.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jack; two children, Chris Gillis, and Kathy (Shannon) Smith, De Pere; two grandchildren, Jillian and Landen; two siblings, Larry (Vivian) Johnsen, Verona, IL, and Sue David, Burlington, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Amy Northway; and two nieces, Leah and Amy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason St., Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday at St. Agnes Church, 1484 9th St, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
