Lois F. Johnson, 86, Green Bay, formerly of Commonwealth, WI, died peacefully on May 3, 2018, with family by her side. Born on May 5, 1931 at home, in Florence, she is the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Erickson) Peterson. Lois graduated from Florence High School in 1949. She married Clarence Johnson on November 4, 1967 in Iron Mountain, MI, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2006. Lois lived in Kingsford for approximately 19 years before moving back to her family home in Commonwealth, where she served as Deacon and active member at First Presbyterian Church of Florence. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for Highland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain for 19 years. Lois loved the beach and spending time by the water, and was passionate about taming wildlife, especially chipmunks. Lois will be sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Janet (Al) Kleiman, Bark River, MI, and Karen (Kim) Anderson, Green Bay; three granddaughters, Amy (Rick) Wery, Memphis, TN, Kari Anderson, Green Bay, and Jennifer (Davie) Mathias, Gladstone, MI; six great grandchildren, Cassey, David, and Brandon, Donovan, Gavin, and Keegan; several nieces and nephews; and her extra special friend, Debbie DeMuri.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Jack P. Nau; and one brother and two sisters.
Private services will taker place at later date. Burial at Commonwealth Cemetery in Florence, WI.
