Karen Virginia Kendall, 72, Green Bay, died peacefully on February 9, 2018, with family by her side. Born on September 6, 1945, in Panama, she is the daughter of the late Ellis and Althea (Jorgeson) Kendall. Karen was an educator who impacted many lives and spent the later part of her career at Schroeders Flowers and Oneida Bingo and Casino. She loved music and art and spending time outdoors, especially gardening. Karen will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, and was always willing to go out of her way to help others.
Karen is survived by four children, Marian, Randall, Michael, and Robert Eckman, all of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Kristen, Randi Gena, and Ethan Eckman, Andrew Rue, Kayden Eckman, and Phillip Coppess, Jr.; one great grandchild, Journey Mitchell; twin sister, Margaret Zielske; one brother, Edward (Kay) Kendall; many nieces and nephews; and one daughter-in-law, April Eckman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eckman; parents; one brother-in-law, Ronald and a great granddaughter, Phoenix.
Visitation at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 341 Wilson Ave, Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Diane Rew officiating. Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements, 432-5579.
