John Michael Frisque

January 25, 1933 — January 26, 2023

John Michael Frisque, 90, Green Bay, was taken into God's loving embrace on January 26, 2023. Born January 25, 1933, in Luxemburg, he is the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Stade) Frisque. John worked hard all of his life. As a child he worked on his uncle's farm, picked cherries and apples in Door County and set pins at the bowling alley. At Luxemburg High School he played drums in the band, played football, basketball, baseball and loved every game. He graduated in 1951 and enlisted in the Coast Guard where he was a radio operator. He was honorably discharged in 1955. John then came home and joined his dad working on the railroad as a track layer. He had met the love of his life, Rosalia Kust, while in high school; he was a senior and she was a freshman. They kept in touch the whole time he was in the Coast Guard and when she graduated they got engaged. On October 22, 1955, they wed at St. Joseph Church, Pilsen. One year later their daughter, Pam was born in 1956. In 1958 they welcomed a son, Randy. And in 1961, another son, Jeffrey. By this time, John was cutting grass along the tracks for the railroad. Shortly after John and Rosie moved to Green Bay in 1961, John started working as a switch-man for the Green Bay and Western Railroad and retired from there in 1994. His beloved Rosie passed away on April 4, 2005.

John is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Michael) Wied, their children, Nicholas (Tierney) Wied and Sarah (Christopher Muellner) Wied; son, Randall Frisque, children, Melissa (Paul Forchette) Frisque and Brian Frisque; son, Jeffrey (Rene) Frisque, children, Jessica (Adam) Koskubar and John Frisque; great-grandchildren, Madison Wied, Ava Wied, Jayden Sternard, Lydia Sternard, Amelia Jane Koskubar, Justin Koskubar, Hunter Frisque, Ella Forchette and Cecelia Forchette; sister, Dorothy (Marvin) Bertrand; sisters-in-law, Beverly Paye, Eloise Kust, Diane Brezinski and Shirley Kust; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Rosie; brothers, Roman (Arena) and Jim; sister, Magdeline (Henry) Dunning; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norbert (Marian) Dorner, Milas (Grace) Ledvina, Robert (Elaine) Dorner, Kenneth Kust, Harold Paye, Jim Brezinski and Roger Kust; two nephews and three nieces.
