Joan Alice Zehms

Joan Alice Zehms, 77, New Franken, died unexpectedly on April 2, 2017. Born on April 17, 1939 in Tonet, Wis, she is the daughter of the late Art and Josephine (Hermans) Adams. Joan attended Luxemburg-Casco High School. On May 30, 1962, she married Louis Zehms. Joan first worked as a bartender while raising her family, and went on to work for 25 years at Packerland Packing. She enjoyed reading and playing cards, but her real love was her vegetable garden, which she shared with friends and family.

Joan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Louis; two children, Randy (Lori) Zehms, and Debbie (Chris) Beyer; one granddaughter, Roxanne Demeny and friend Chris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lori; and two sisters, Mary Gunderson, and Della (Jim) Glenzer.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm. Funeral service at 6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Steve Fewell officiating.
