Jean (Van Laanen-Bechard) Kolbusz, 85, Green Bay, passed away October 24, 2014. Born on January 18, 1929, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Norman and Alice (Delmont) Van Laanen. Jean graduated from East High School and then went on to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh receiving her teaching degree. She taught at St. Philip’s School for twelve years before retiring. Jean married the father of her children, James J. Bechard and he preceded her in death in 1988. She then went on to marry Norman Kolbusz in 1992, and he preceded her in death in 2010. She enjoyed theater, traveling, birds, her Packers, and times spent with her grandchildren. Jean will be remembered as being kind, generous, and wise.
She is survived by her four children, Nancy (Robert) Eggleston of Honor, Michigan, Mary (Roger) LeBeau , Jane (Charles DeFrance) De Moulin, and Karen Schwartz all of Green Bay; daughter-in-law, Joan Bechard of Green Bay; ten grandchildren; one great grandson, James Joseph Bechard; one sister, Phyllis (Gregory) Koerner.
Preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Bechard.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home 701 N. Baird St, Monday, October 27, from 4 PM until a sharing of memories at 7 PM.
