Germaine “Jim” Lambert, 91, Green Bay, passed away, Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2017, with her family at her side. Born Sept. 14, 1925, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Jule and Laura (Marchant) Bero. Germaine is a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1943. She married Donald R. Lambert in April of 1948; he preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2010. Germaine worked at Woolworths and later at Wisconsin Bell before staying at home to tend to her family. She later returned to AT&T where she served as a posting clerk and retired in 1990.
Germaine was a wonderful and devoted mother. She will be remembered as a great collector of art, stamps, fine jewelry, and angels. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, tending her yard, and spending time at Art Street and the Green Bay Botanical Garden. Germaine loved the art of letter writing, both sending and receiving hand-written notes. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was truly infectious.
Germaine is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lauretta Lambert; grandchildren, Brett (Jenny) Kennedy and Dawn (Troy) Layne; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Patrick Kennedy, Ayden and Lerae Layne; Steve’s step-mother, Marilyn Lambert; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene (William) Gomand and Dorothy (Joseph) Tilot; former husband, Donald Lambert; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation in the chapel of Allouez Catholic Mausoleum, 2121 Riverside Drive, Tuesday, April 18th, from 10am until the time of the funeral at 11am. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Visit
