Gerald Kawula

December 11, 1935 — January 15, 2024

Gerald (Jerry) Kawula passed away unexpectedly at home on January 15, 2024, at the age of 88, following heart failure.

Born on December 11, 1935, in Green Bay, Jerry was an only child of the late Stanley and Anna (Wielgus) Kawula. He attended Central Catholic High School (Premontre), Green Bay, from  where he went on to join the United States Marine Corps in his senior year.  Jerry served from 1954-1957 receiving a Good Conduct Medal. On January 25, 1960, he began his lifelong career at Hamilton Manufacturing Co., Two Rivers, where he was a finisher until he retired on June 1, 2001, after 41 years with the company.

On September 28, 1963, he married his beloved wife of 60 years, Nancy (Rabas) Kawula, who survives him. Other survivors include their four boys, Patrick (Lisa) Kawula of De Pere, WI; Robert (Traci) Kawula of Tallahassee, FL; Thomas (Amy) Kawula of Bellevue, WI; and Michael (Aurelea) Kawula of Combined Locks, WI; seven grandchildren Kayla (Joe) Watson; Kendra (Elliot) Kawula; Kelsey (Austin) Kawula; Amanda (Jacob) Kawula; Nathan Kawula; Logan Kawula and Abby Kawula; and one great-grandchild, his “Punkie” Gracelyn Marie Watson, who will miss her “Papa.” Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild.

Friends and family may call at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay on Saturday, January 20 for visitation from 9-11 a.m. The funeral Mass, proclaiming our faith in the resurrection, will be 11 a.m. with Fr. Matt Simonar as celebrant. Mass will be livestreamed at NativityDisciples.org. Burial will follow at Allouez Catholic Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum in Allouez.

The family would like to express special thanks to Kurt Kobus & Lisa Henrich, neighbors; and the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety for their heroic care during a most difficult time.
