Ethel Monfils

August 27, 1926 — February 7, 2021

Ethel (Vanden Langenberg) Monfils, 94, Green Bay, passed away February 7, 2021. Born on August 27, 1926, in Green Bay she is the daughter of the late Carl and Catherine (Finnel) Vanden Langenberg. She was a graduate of East High School the class of 1944. On May 4, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart Louis Monfils at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where they are life time members. Ethel worked at H.C. Prange for 40 years retiring as a switch board operator. She also worked at Massart Auctioneers for many years. She chaired her class reunions for over 60 years. Ethel volunteered at the CCD program teaching religious classes for 20 years. For over 20 years she raised money for St. Jude's Research Hospital. Ethel loved being a grandmother and great grandmother and was affectionately known as "kissy grandma". She enjoyed going on and planning monthly bus trips, going to their trailer at Chaudoir's Dock, playing bridge, and dinners with her family for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Louis; son, Marty (Gina) Monfils; son-in-law, Robert Massart; grandchildren, Lara (Tim) Feldhausen, Damien (Michelle) Massart, Tricia Berge, Timothea (Dana) Vanden Heuvel, Griffin Monfils, Teagan Monfils, Macy Monfils; great grandchildren, Josiah Feldhausen, Taylor, Jacob, Logan, and Maddi Massart, Charli and Reese Berge; brother, Harland Langenberg, and two sisters, Geraldine Dorner and Dolly Vanden Heuvel; sister-in-law, Rosie Langenberg; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry (Hortense) Monfils; daughter, Patricia Massart; great granddaughter, Katherine Feldhausen; brother, Clayton Langenberg; sister-in-law, Patricia Langenberg and three brothers-in-law, George Dorner, Jerry Barry, and Larry Vandenheuvel.

Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. on Friday February 12, from 1 PM until 3 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 3 PM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vince Lombardi Cancer Center especially Dr. Patel and his staff. Also, a special thank you to Aurora At Home Hospice, especially Jessica and Mary.
