Eleanor R. Truckey, age 95 of Green bay, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Odd Fellow Nursing Home. She was born on November 16, 1925 in Green Bay to the late Arcen and Pearl (Barber) Dessart. Eleanor was united in marriage to Fred Truckey on July 29, 1950 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Catholic Church.
Eleanor graduated from Austin High School in Chicago a part of the class of 1943 and also studied for two years at De Paul University. Through the years, Eleanor worked for eight years in accounting and served as a sales representative for Avon for 40 years. She was proud to say that she worked into her mid 70’s.
Her hobbies and interests included, bingo, playing cards, reading, going to the cottage in the summer and going fishing. In her younger years she also was a volunteer in her children’s PTA.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (John) Ganter of Green Bay, Patricia Bohlman of Milwaukee, Jean (Charles) Sully of Sturgeon Bay and James Truckey of Green Bay; grandchildren, Aaron and Elizabeth Truckey; step grandchildren, Ileen (Phillip) Ross, Paul Deffke, Sue (Mike) Manteufel, Tina (Eric) Novotny, Heather Reed and Kolina (Mark) Koszycki. Six great grandchildren further survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Truckey; sister, Margaret (John) Mulloy; brother, Bud Dessart; son in law, Michael Bohlman; and stepfather, Bill Compton.
Per Eleanor’s wishes a private family service will be held.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Odd Fellow Nursing home and to Dr. Matthew Schmidt and Kelli Fredrickson, NP for all their compassionate care they gave Eleanor through the years.
