Edsel (Ed) DeBaker, Oconto Falls, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife Dorothy, and family. Reaching for his hand from Heaven was his deceased daughter, Diane.
Ed was born July 16, 1923, to the late Arthur and Minnie DeBaker, in Dyckesville. As a young man, he married Beatrice Gillis of Green Bay and later married Dorothy Stillings.
He owned and operated the family farm for several years while being employed at Fort Howard Paper. After 26 years, he left his employment to pursue the many things he liked to do. Ed enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Joyce (Clint) Gereau of Hobart, Carol DeBaker of Stiles; and sister Verna (Dean) Thiry of Casco. By his second marriage, he is survived by his daughter, Trish (Richard) Church of Zanesville, OH; sons, Duane (Kristine) Stillings of North Prairie, WI, Paul (Marilu) Stillings of Coleman, Steve (Lynne) Stillings of Brookshire, TX, and Mark (Joyce) Hunter of Green Bay, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Diane McGuire, son-in-law, Chester (Willie) McGuire, brother Gilbert DeBaker , sister, Doris Gillis and her husband, Alvin.
Family and friends will gather at Malcore West Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason St., Saturday, July 1, from 1 PM until the time of the memorial service at 4 PM.
Ed will be laid to rest next to his mother and father- Art and Minnie DeBaker at St. Louis Cemetery in Dyckesville, WI.
