Dorothy “Mamie” (Zingler) Herlache-Gay, 83, Green Bay, passed away peacefully November 22, 2013, with her loving family by her side. Born May 8, 1930, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Derbique) Zingler. Dorothy married the late Leland W. Herlache on August 18, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1993. Together they raised eleven children and one foster child. She was a member of the Blue Army for years, part of the VFW, and a volunteer as a election poll worker. Dorothy was an active participant in Eucharistic Perpetual Adoration at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Her faith was very important to her. She was a life long member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and said the rosary daily. Dorothy collected frogs because of her belief in the acronym (FROG) Fully Rely On God. She loved her Fridays being pampered by her daughter, Tina. Dorothy was an avid card shark and loved playing Sheepshead and Cribbage. She enjoyed trips to the casino especially with her daughters. Dorothy was always helpful, generous to others, and especially loved her times spent with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Survived by her children, Deb (Al) Wimer, Lee Herlache Jr., Vicky (Stephen) Daul, Jeff Herlache (fiancé Karen Hubbard), Lori (Bruce) Helnore, Mike (Connie) Herlache, Tina (Mike) Corpus, Stephanie Evensen (fiancé, Jeff Le May), Jennifer (Mike) Schott, and foster daughter Jacki (Al) Schneider; twenty five grandchildren; 18 great grand children; daughter in law, Marianne Herlache; one brother Robert (Lisa) Zingler; one sister in law, Dorothy (Milton) Herlache; many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Tom and Jim; daughter in law, Beth; husband, David Gay; two brothers, Ken and Bill.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home University at Baird St. Tuesday from 4 PM until 8 PM. Parish Wake service at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating.
