Doris L. Kellam, 97, Green Bay, found peace early Friday morning, October 20, 2023, at a local hospital. Born December 19, 1925, in Menasha, she is the daughter of the late, Louis and Ann (Terrell) Turensky. Doris attended Saints Peter and Paul Grade School and graduated from East High School. Doris married James A. Kellam on April 7, 1947, in Green Bay and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2011. Shortly after their marriage, the young couple moved to Crandon, where James was from originally. It is here that they raised their family and Doris was extremely active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, serving in the Altar Society, along with her activities in the American Legion Post. Doris was an active sports enthusiast, but mostly a Packer fan.
Doris is survived by six children, Yvonne "Bonnie" (Jack) McMillion of Green Bay, James A. Kellam III of Palm Springs, CA, Joanne Swenton of Waukesha, Mary (Tim) Lieburn of DePere, Karen (Brian) Massey of Green Bay, and William (Reyes) Kellam of Norcross, GA, 11 grandchildren, Todd (Elizabeth) McMillion, Karen (Bill) Springob Wright, Mike (Erin) Swenton, James (Karie) Kellam, Anna (Ryan) Mueller, Sara Lieburn, Daniel Massey, Jackson Massey, Maria Kellam, William Kellam and Michael Kellam; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Turensky; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James; six siblings, Eleanor (Alex) Smeester, Al (Bobbi) Turensky, Raymond (Laverne) Turensky, Patricia (Gerald) Beno, Edward (Jean) Turensky, Anna Marie (Fred) Mier; sister-in-law, Sandy Turensky; son-in-law, Albert Swenton; and a grandson-in-law, Steve Springob.
Visitation at St. Bernard Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Adam Bradley officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Malcore (East) Funeral Home assisting the family.
The family extends a special thank you to the caring staffs of Woodside Lutheran Home and St. Vincent Hospital.
