Donald “Don” K. Streckenbach, 85, Luxemburg, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, October 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at home. Born on December 27, 1931, he is the son of the late Allen and Elizabeth (Godwin) Streckenbach. Don is a proud Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army. On October 23, 1954, he married Marilyn Streckenbach at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Donald enjoyed traveling the country with his wife in their big fifth wheel six months of the year and “a little bit” of everything else.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marilyn; children, Craig (Crystal), Richard (Mary), Bryan (Virginia), Sherry (Mark) Scheibelhut, Christine (Rob) Berkhahn; 11 grandchildren, Misty, Shane, Matt, Sara, Julio, Hans, Mark Jr., Amanda, Erin, Nicolas, and Ashley; eight great grandchildren, Cooper, Harper, Kali, Eva, Josie, Gabriel, Malina, and Kailey; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (David) Johnson, and Joan Barnard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glenn and Frank Streckenbach; one sister, Evelyn Choiffi; three sisters-in-law, Jean Streckenbach, and Ruth Younkle and Gladys Van Kauwenburgh; one half-brother; and three half-sisters.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Malcore (East) Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with services, 432-5579.
