Dean L. Arcand

Dean “Dino” L. Arcand, 52, Town of Scott, died on March 8, 2018, following a long battle with ALS. Born on January 19, 1966, in Crystal Falls, MI, he is the son of Lawrence and the late Jean (Nettell) Arcand. Dean graduated from Forest Park High School, where he excelled in track, basketball, and as a running back in football. He also attended Northern Michigan University, where he played football and made many lifelong friends. On October 6, 2001, he married Lisa Arcand at St. Phillip the Apostle Church. Dean was a passionate sports fan of Michigan State and the Packers. He loved to play the bass guitar with his friends and the bands the Plow Boys and Percheye. Prior to his illness, he worked at Krueger International as a print operator and at Arbon Equipment Corporation as a maintenance technician.

Dean is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Lisa; his pride and joy, his two sons, Dean and Derek Arcand; three siblings, Tina (Soo Bazzano) Arcand, Fairfield, CA, Tony (Lesli) Arcand, Crystal Falls, MI, and Trung (Oki) Arcand, Fayetteville, NC; father and step-mother, Lawrence (Paula) Arcand, Crystal Falls, MI; father-in-law, Tom DeChamps; step-sisters, Stacy (Ryan) Pedrin, and Nicole (Todd) Loehr; one brother-in-law, Tom DeChamps, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Jean; mother-in-law, Linda DeChamps; paternal grandparents, Lawrence (Virginia) Arcand; and maternal grandparents, Chet (Olga) Nettell.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 N. Baird St., Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Wednesday at St. Joseph Church (Champion), 5996 County Road K, New Franken, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Amy James and her staff, as well as the nurses and doctors at Bellin Hospital for the compassionate care that they provided over the course of several years. They would also like to thank the nurses that assisted at home, especially - Jessica, Jade, Brigit, Peter, Paula, and Melissa, as well as the nurses who helped in the past.
