Dawn "Donna" M. Smith

Dawn "Donna" M. Smith, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, May 22, 2023, at her home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Born in Green Bay, March 18, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Harold and Josephine (Delfosse) Wilson. Donna married Bernard "Bernie" Smith, October 29, 1955, at St. Agnes Church, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2002. She had worked for a number of years at Kroll's West. Donna also fostered a number of children over the years. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of going out on bike rides and walks, camping, family gatherings and cookouts. Donna was a collector of anything "cute", especially Elvis, cookie jars and salt and pepper shakers. She was a loyal owner and took pride in her Cadillac Brougham. Donna was always willing to help out those in need, whether family or a total stranger; she would go without, so others would have. She will forever be remembered as a dedicated, loving, wife, mom, and grandmother. 

Donna is survived by three children, Bernice Wishart, Bernadine (Jonathan) Ginter, and Airk Smith, all of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Billie Jo, Holly, Christine, John, Jr., Heather, Justin and Nikita; 20 great-grandchildren, Jayd, Esmeralda, Antonio, Mireya, Brianna, Alfredo, Maricela, Alex, Martin, Malakai, Rutila, Alondra, Damion, Kalista, Olivia, John, III, Liliana, Jazlynn, Jaylynn and Justin, II,; five great-great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Aliyana, Roberto, Axa, and Isabel; many other  relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bernie; an infant daughter, Brenda; siblings, Herbert (Janice) Wilson, Kenneth (Marge) Wilson, and Carol Joyce (Willard) Champeau, brother-in-law  and sisters-in-law, Margaret Doherty, Rudy Smith and Betty Doherty; and Donna's friend, David Doherty. 

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4-8pm. Parish wake service 7pm Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation to continue Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria Street, from 9:30am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 10:30am at the church. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
