David Amos DeGroot

David A. DeGroot, age 80 of Green Bay, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at home. He was born on November 10, 1940 to the late Mark and Marie (LeBrun) DeGroot in Fond du Lac, WI. He married Mary Mendolla on September 3, 1966 at Saints Peter and Paul in Green Bay.
David graduated from St. Norbert’s High School and went on to two years of vocational school at the now NWTC in Green Bay. He finished his education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from UW-Oshkosh. During his college years, David also served his country in the Army Reserves.
Left to cherish David’s memory are his wife of nearly 55 years, Mary; children, Nicolasa (Ronald) Sipiorski and their children, Jesse, Kateryna, Josef and Benjamin Sipiorski, Cheme (Megan) DeGroot and their children, Alexandria and Maximilian DeGroot, and Carlos DeGroot; siblings, Mark (Peggy) DeGroot, Leo (Lucy) DeGroot, MaryJean Desotell and Guy (Lynn) DeGroot. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul (Pat) DeGroot and brother in law, Dean Desotell.
David will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for all the love and care they provided for David.
