Daniel J. Dettmann

Daniel J. Dettmann, 75, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Friday, August 9, 2019. Born December 8, 1943 in Sheboygan, he is the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Phipps) Dettmann. After graduating from Lakeland College, Dan went on to serve in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era, serving mainly in England. After returning from the service, he received an advanced degree in education from UW Oshkosh. Dan went on to teach in the social sciences for many years at West DePere. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan and loved playing both basketball and softball.

Dan is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane (Tom) Henderson and their son, Dan (Tracy), all of Sun Prairie, and their children, Zachary and Jacob; Mary Beth (Roy) Swenson, Marshall and their children, Amy (Blake) Edwards, of Phillips, WI, and their children, Morgan, Austin, and Joshua, Paul (Brenda) Swenson of Janesville and their children, Reid and Maggie; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Harold Schuch; and special friend of 30 years, Joyce Palladino.

Private family services were held with Malcore (West) Funeral Home, Green Bay serving the family.
