Barbara M. Jandrain, 86, Green Bay, passed away, Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2017 at the Meng Residence of Unity Hospice with family by her side. Born April 20, 1930, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Bader) Coel. Barb graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. On July 5, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Richard R. Jandrain, Jr. and together, the couple founded Jandrain Religious Supply Company in 1963. Richard preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2008. Barbara is a long-time member of the Crozier Society. She was a big believer that charity begins at home but it does not end there. She demonstrated this by support of numerous charitable organizations. Barbara will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Above all, Barbara valued her faith and family, including her 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and there was nothing she cherished more than being “Granny”.
Barbara is survived by six children, Richard R. (Cynthia) Jandrain, III, Columbus, OH and their children, Richard (Kimberly) Jandrain, IV, Jessica (Kyle) Robertson, Elizabeth (Gilles) Jones, and Benjamin; Jeffery Jandrain, De Pere and his children, Nicole (Brian) Jandrain Rago, Jared, Jason, and Tamara; Sarahn (James) Williams, Fox Point, WI and their children, Luke (Kim) Schmidt, Megan (Michael) Nufer, and Emily; James (Cynthia) Jandrain, Omaha, NE and their children, Christine, Dominic, Nicholas, Matthew, Mary, Anne, Joseph, and Clare; Holly Jandrain Green Bay and her children Becky Krenik, Matthew Dewitt and Michael Dewitt; Jennifer (Michael) Torti, Leawood, KS and their children, Madeline and Samuel; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Vanness and Harriet Bauldry; one brother, Joseph (Jan) Coel; and a brother-in-law, Alvin Vaness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sarah Coel; loving husband of 55 years, Richard R. Jandrain, Jr.; one sister, Eleanor Vaness; brothers-in-law, Richard Vanness and Kenneth Bauldry.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Monday, from 9:30am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 11am Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Church with Msgr. James B. Feely and Rev. Tony Birdsall concelebrating. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Luxemburg.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to Catholic Relief Services or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
