Alvin E. DeBauche, 91, Green Bay, died peacefully, Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Jack Engrid Meng Center after a brief illness. Born in Green Bay, July 23, 1922, he is the son of the late Gus and Helen (Misovec) DeBauche. He served in the United States Army during World War II serving in the European Theatre. Al married the former Laverne Prail on October 14, 1950, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2011. He worked for the Kraft Cheese Company and James River Paper Mill until his retirement. Al was a lifetime member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church who often volunteered for the church picnic. He was a member of the American Legion Post #11 and the Great Lakes Sports Fisherman in Green Bay. Al was an avid fisherman that caught countless perch out on the Bay of Green Bay as well as a longtime season ticket holder and fan of the Packers.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dan (Cheryl) DeBauche; grandchildren, Nicole (Gabe) Malicoat and Luke DeBauche all of Green Bay; great grandchildren, Dominic, Joel, and Savannah; sisters, Jean (Pete) Gilson, and Betty Matzke of DePere; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Clarence (Aggie) DeBauche.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Rosary service 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Wednesday’s visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Saints Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Military honors to follow. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
