Alice M. Mielke

Alice Mielke, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2025, with her loving family by her side after a long and fulfilling life. She was born in Green Bay on March 29, 1927, to Elmer and Mary (VandenPut) Andre. She married her husband, LeRoy “Red” Mielke, at SS. Peter & Paul Church on November 23, 1946. During their forty-eight years together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with six children.

Alice’s life was defined by her devotion to her family and her strong faith in God. A woman of immense grace, warmth, and love, she found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Alice especially enjoyed visiting her family and friends in Arizona. An avid walker and lover of the outdoors, she was always on the move, finding joy in hiking along mountain trails, strolling along beaches, and collecting natural treasures like rocks, shells, and driftwood—small reminders of the beauty she saw in the world.

Strong, wise, and feisty, Alice was known for her quick wit, kind heart and positive attitude. She had a gift for making others feel truly heard—and she genuinely delighted in meeting new people and getting to know them. She was the heart of her family and a source of love and strength to all who knew her.

Alice is survived by her children, Steve Mielke, Dawn Heraly, David (Barbara) Mielke, LeRoy Mielke, Jr., Susan (Tom) Chiara, and Jeannie (Todd) Rentmeester; her grandchildren, Julie (Eugene), Greg (Sarah), Matthew, Jennifer (Tim), Kaitlin (Jeremiah), Ariel, and Trevor; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Cameron, Alex, Abby, and Aaron. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Dennis; her daughter-in-law, Diane Mielke; her brother, Elmer Jr.; and her sisters, Elaine Andre and Jean Hinzmann.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Malcore (East) Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM, with a prayer service to follow. Visitation will continue Friday, October 10, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Church. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Unity Hospice, and to her dear friend, Linda Hinds, for her kindness and support throughout the years.
