Al Hale

Allan "Al" Hale, 86, Green Bay, passed away with his wife by his side, November 26, 2023.  Born on May 26, 1937, he is the son of the late John and Sarah (Vogel) Hale.  Al was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1955 in Manitowoc. He completed his five-year apprenticeship at Manitowoc Vocation School and acquired his journeyman plumbing license from the state of Wisconsin.  Al married Virginia La Fond on November 10, 1962, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Al and his wife Virginia have been members of St Philip the Apostle Church since 1964. He worked for his father's plumbing business for many years and worked as a foreman on large construction projects.  Al was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 400 and was vice president and president of Local 298. He was a beer vendor for the Green Bay Packer home games for 55 years. Al volunteered for St Philip Athletics where he was a member, secretary, and treasurer.  Al was the Little League Dodgers coach at Lawe Street starting in 1970 and did so for many years.  He was honored and humbled to be inducted into the Packers Fan Hall of Fame in 2008.

Al is survived by his wife Virginia; children, Kathryn (Mark McKnight) O'Hearn, Timothy Hale, Michael (Anne) Hale, Patrick (Lisa) Hale, and Daniel (Sara) Hale; grandchildren, Benjamin and Jacob O'Hearn, Emma Hale, Noah and Caleb Hale, Alexander, Kora, and Riley Hale, Andrew Hale, and Julia VerHaagh; siblings, Martha (Jim) Gorzalancyk, Thomas (Sandy) Hale; brothers and sisters in law, James La Fond,  Paul Schultz; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sister Sara Hale O.S.F., Sister Mary Hale O.S.F., and Sarah Joyce; mother and father-in-law, Mark and Edna La Fond; brother-in-law, Bill Joyce and sisters-in-law, Diane La Fond, and  Joan La Fond-Schultz.

Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N Baird St., Friday, December 8 from 2 PM until 7 PM. Visitation will continue at St Philip the Apostle Church Saturday December 9, from 9 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. A private family entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum will follow Mass.

In lieu of money, cards, and memory presents, please donate to any of the following organizations: Wednesday Noon Optimist, St Philips Parish and School, Silver lake Convent in Manitowoc, WI, or Kathy's House located at Froedtert Medical campus Milwaukee, WI.
