William “Bill” J. Ritz, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully at a local nursing home on Monday, March 31, 2014. Born on September 28, 1925, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Sylvester and Ellen (Stiles) Ritz. On May 20, 1950, he married the former Evelyn Dombroski. Bill was a proud Navy veteran who served during World War II. He worked for the Green Bay Planing Mill for most of his adult life. Bill enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and old movies.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn; one son, Mark (Sandy) Ritz, Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Jenny (Jim) Blackmore, Brenda (Andrew) Schiessl, and Renee (Doug) Sina, all of Madison; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Karwedsky, and Catherine Persson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Edward Ritz; and four sisters, Alvina Woelky, Annabelle Wiegand, Viola Suski, and Charlotte Lee.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 710 N. Baird Street, with the Rev. Tony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
