William J. Grovogel Sr.

December 5, 1958 — April 12, 2015

William “Bill” J. Grovogel, Sr., 56, Green Bay, died peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer on April 12, 2015. Born on December 5, 1958, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Leland and Dorothy Tracy (Van Beaver) Grovogel. Bill was a graduate of Green Bay East High School. On September 15, 1989, he married the former Sherry Vieth at Joannes Park. Bill was employed at Krueger International as a welder for over 22 years. He was skilled at woodworking and metal art, and helped many friends and family through the years as a handyman. Bill enjoyed rummaging, and cherished spending time with family, especially going on “walkabouts” with the grandchildren. He will also be known for the many silly pranks that he played on friends, family and co-workers, and how he loved to make people laugh.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sherry, Green Bay; four children, Ben Vieth (fiancée, Becky Gretzinger), Green Bay, Autumn (Dave) Williams, Marquette, MI, Kori Grovogel, Green Bay, and William Grovogel, Jr. (Jen Liegeois), Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Mason, Emma, Brandon, Kailee, Andrew, Carter, and his adopted grandchild, Landen Grovogel; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sharon Champeny, Dianne (John) Lagers, and Debra (Richard) Specht, all of Green Bay; one brother, Ron Grovogel, Green Bay; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
