Victor “Sid” K. McClannahan, 100, Green Bay, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2015, at a local nursing home. Born January 1, 1915, in North Dakota, he is the son of the late Kenneth and Maude McClannahan. Victor was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country during WW II. He married the former Frances Mary Blickham in Chicago on June 1, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 1996. Victor was a small business owner for many years working as a heating contractor. His family will remember his beautiful tenor voice, his great skill at playing the violin, tap dancing, and singing around the house. Victor was also an avid sports fan, following the Brewers and Packers. One of his greatest joys in life was his family-his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Victor is survived by six children, Bill Ryan of Green Bay, Daniel (Jean) McClannahan of Green Bay, Dwyn (Joe) De Groot of Two Rivers, Tim (Patty) McClannahan of Alabama, Gary McClannahan of Green Bay, and Kathy (Mark Patrick) McClannahan of Green Bay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Frances; a great-grandson, Aiden; 1 brother and 11 sisters.
Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Wednesday, Sept. 9th, from 4-pm until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home with Deacon David Zepnick officiating. Full military honors to follow. Victor will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Frances in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
