She also cared for dogs as a kennel attendant at Canterbury Tails and worked as a youth mentor at Innovative Services. She had started general courses at NWTC and planned to transfer to North Dakota State University, where she would major in Psychology in hopes of being a social worker for foster children and underprivileged youth. She also took weekend dental assistant classes in hopes of working her way through college. Taylor was a natural leader and showed it both on and off the field. She was chosen as team captain for her softball team and helped lead them through a perfect season. After graduating she went on to become an assistant coach for the team on which her sister played.
