Suzanne “Sue” Walschinski, 79, Green Bay, died peacefully at her home on September 10, 2015, with family by her side. Born on July 15, 1936, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ann (maiden) Pilz. Sue is a graduate of Green Bay West High School. She met John Walschinski square dancing, and on April 11, 1959, they married at Annunciation Church in Green Bay. In 1961, Sue and John lived in Tacoma, Washington, while John served in the Wisconsin National Guard and United States Army. Sue worked at St. Vincent Hospital for 26 years as a medical transcriptionist. She and John also owned and operated JW’s of Door County in Ephraim for over 10 years, where they sold a variety of quilting and crafting items. Sue enjoyed quilting and crafting, watching the Packers, and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She has also been a long-time member at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John; six children, Rick (Lori) Walschinski, Jim (Patty) Walschinski, Gregory Walschinski, Lori (Larry) Burrows, and John (Annie) Walschinski, all of Green Bay, and Dan (Bridget) Walschinski, Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, Sara, Matthew, Adam, Alex, Bradley, April, Melissa, Ashley, Tia, Stormy, and Nick; seven siblings, Bev Ridgley, Marilyn Cross, Nancy (Jim) Deacon, Jeanette (Larry) Mommaerts, Cindy (Greg) Jameson, Tom (Kris) Pilz, and Joe (Lynne) Pilz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers-in-law, Ray Ridgley and Paul Cross.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the procession to church. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 710 N. Baird St., with Rev. Tony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
