Sanford “Sandy” Maccoux, 84, Green Bay, died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 12, 2014, at a local hospital, with family by his side. Born on May 13, 1929, in Misiere, WI, he is the son of the late John and Emily (Delforge) Maccoux. On September 27, 1949, Sanford married Germaine DeVillers at St. Hubert Church in the Town of Lincoln, and she preceded him in death on December 3, 2013. He worked his entire adult life at Schreiber Foods. Sanford was a long-time member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish where he served as an usher, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4505. He also was a life long member of the Herman’s Club. After retirement, he volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. Sanford was a huge sports fan who enjoyed watching college basketball, football in general, but most especially, the Packers.
Sanford is survived by five children, Wayne (Kathleen) Maccoux, New Franken, Brian (Susan) Maccoux, Bruce (Becky) Maccoux, both of Green Bay, Neal (Julie) Maccoux, Hobart, and Amy (David) Dier, Green Bay; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and three step-great great grandchildren; one sister, Verna Jauquet, Green Bay; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger (Veronica) DeVillers, Luxemburg; and sister-in-law, Doris DeVillers, of Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Germaine; one brother and sister-in-law, Clifford (Mary) Maccoux; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Jauquet and Norman DeVillers; and his parents.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4–8 pm. Parish wake service 7 pm Friday, March 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the funeral mass. Mass of Christian Burial 1 pm Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Saints Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Tony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
