Ruth Susan Fritz

December 28, 1924 — June 10, 2014

Ruth Susan Fritz, 89, Green Bay, died peacefully at Heritage Gardens on June 10, 2014, with family by her side. Born on December 28, 1924, in Milwaukee, she is the daughter of the late Adolph and Marie (Schwaller) Lofy. Ruth proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. She worked as a secretary at Castle Sales for over 20 years, until her retirement. Ruth was a writer and gourmet cook, and she was proud of the cookbook that she published, The Shoebox Collection. She had a talent as an interior decorator, and she helped design several homes, including her Jungle Hut, which was featured several times in the Press-Gazette. Ruth enjoyed making her holidays special and exciting by giving them special themes, which included costumes for family members, such as leopard and patchwork quilt clothing. She loved dancing, and she won an award in a disco dancing competition in her 50s. Ruth was instrumental in starting the Ostomy Club at St. Vincent Hospital, and bringing the Beginning Experience for Divorced Individuals to Green Bay. Ruth’s strong faith also played a vital role in her life, and her willingness to help others. Most of all, she loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, and they were the love of her life.

Ruth is survived by two children, Ron (Susan Valentino) Robinson, and Becky (Jeffrey) LeBreck, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Greg (Lora) LeBreck, Kim (Chad) Fuerst-Gerst, Courtney Robinson (significant other, Danny Torres), Drew (Britta) Robinson, and Natalie Robinson; and seven great grandchildren, Morgan, Mateo, and Stella, Michael, Abby, and Evan, and Ezekiel; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Mary) Lofy; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barb Murphy, and Frannie (Joe) Turcin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Lofy; four sisters, Gert, Agnes, Helen, and Lorraine.
