Russell S. Gettleman

Russell S. Gettleman, 80, Green Bay, passed away Saturday morning, January 22, 2022, at a local hospital. Russell was born in Green Bay on July 9, 1941. He was employed with the Brown County Sheriff's Department for 25 years as a police officer. Russ was a very active member in Ducks Unlimited, both within Wisconsin and Louisiana Chapters. He enjoyed much of his retirement time in Louisiana hunting and fishing.

Russell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roma M. Gettleman; two daughters, Kim (Carl) VandenAvond and Heidi (Maria Zachari) Cain; and daughter-in-law, Vanessa Aucoin-Cain; four grandchildren, Sylvia (Nathan) Schneiderman, Valerie (Sergio Servantez) Riehl, Bryce (Loren) Cain, and Matthew Riehl; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lincoln, and Naomi.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Scott Cain.

The family invites all who knew Russ to join together at Riverside Ballroom on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 5-8pm to remember and share stories of Russ's life. There will also be a Celebration of Life in early June of 2022.

In lieu of flowers, memorials gifted to the family will be used for Russ's Ducks Unlimited projects.
