Russel "Russ" Maccoux

August 30, 1927 — August 13, 2015

Russel “Russ” J. Maccoux, 87, Bay Settlement, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday evening, Aug. 13, 2015, at home. Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Brussels, he is the son of the late Willie and Lillian (DeGuelle) Maccoux. Russ married the former Pearl L. Tenor on Nov. 1, 1946, at St. Mary’s Church in Algoma. The couple would often joke that Russ married Pearl so he would no longer need to pick stones on the farm. He was a faithful employee of Procter and Gamble for 43 years. Russ was an active member of Holy Cross Church. For many years, the couple spent part of their winters in Florida and later, Arizona. Russ will be remembered as an active man who never let the years slow him down. He was proud to have visited 38 states, enjoyed several cruises, trips to Las Vegas, and bus trips to casinos. Russ was a sports fan, watching NASCAR, along with the Brewers and the Packers. He spent time bowling and fishing and loved his time “Up North”. Russ was truly gifted as a talented handy man. Family and friends were so very important to Russ; he was so very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would rarely miss any of their special activities or events.

Russ is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Pearl; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Ruth), of Superior, Bill (Bernice), and Steve (Lynn) all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Scott, Justin, Bill, Jr., Michelle, Nicholas, Brandon, Bryan Maccoux and Erin Carter; great-grandchildren, Lakyn and Darian Carter, Kylee, Cole, Amelia, Madalynn, Abigail, Rosalyn and Blaize Maccoux, Marcus and Anthony Garramone; one brother and a sister-in-law, Leonel (Lucille) Maccoux of Green Bay; sisters-in-law, Virgil Maccoux and Rose Tenor, all of Green Bay; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Maccoux; sister, Mary Jean Maccoux; along with Pearl’s brothers and sisters, George (Jeanette), Walter (Adeline), Henry (Lucille), Joseph (Agnes) and Marvin Tenor, Lucy (Louie) Stegmann, Marie (Norman) Knutson, Josephine (Henry) Vandermuse, Delores (Howard) Blanik, and Mary Jane (Lloyd) Benz.

Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Sunday from 4-7pm. Rosary to be recited at 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation to continue Monday morning at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Rd., from 10am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass, 11am Monday at the church with Rev. Michael Weber, O Praem officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

In lieu of other expression of sympathy a memorial fund has been established.

Russ’s family extends a very special thank you to the caring staffs of both the rescue squad and the emergency room of Bellin Hospital; and also to Dr. Paul Schmidt and Dr. Todd
Fergus.

“Pearl, I will be waiting for you at the pearly gates!”
