Rosemarie Dado

September 19, 1915 — November 7, 2017

Rosemarie Therese Dado, 102, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2017. She was born Sep. 19, 1915 in Chicago, to Henry and Mathilda (Karls) Michels.

As a young girl, Mom began a life of love, giving, and service to God and to others. She was a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church. As a child she started “The Merry Mission Workers” to help the missions. She lived an active life, enjoying tennis and swimming, going to Riverview Amusement Park and riding “The Bobs” rollercoaster.

She attended Alvernia High School in Chicago and was elected class president. After graduation she worked as a secretary. She was introduced by a priest to her future husband Anthony C. Dado and they were married Jan. 31, 1948. They had 3 sons: Michael, Anthony and Joseph. After several years, they moved to rural De Pere, where they operated a vegetable farm.

Rosemarie was a devoted Catholic, faithful to Jesus and Mary, and taught her sons and the neighboring children, to pray the Rosary. She taught them about the saints and inspired them with her love. She regularly attended daily Mass and received Jesus in Holy Communion. She inspired her husband everyone with her love, and attention to their needs. She made friends wherever she was. One of the neighbors described Mom as a “living saint.” She also inspired them with her love of nature and the wonders of God’s creation. Her meals and baked foods were works of art, including chocolate cakes, thumbprint cookies, and nut rolls. She enjoyed growing flowers. She would place a vase of picked flowers in front of a statue of Mary, and then lead her family in a religious song.

She is survived by her 3 sons Michael, Anthony and Joseph with his wife Helen Palmer; 3 grandchildren: Michael Jr., Mary and Raphael with his wife Amanda and their daughter Arianna; by 1 sister Marian with her husband John; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
We believe she is with the Angels and Saints praising Our Lord in Heaven, and we hope to see her there with Him in the future.

Her visitation will be at MALCORE (West) Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason St., Green Bay on Sunday Nov. 12 from 4-8 PM with the Rosary at 7 PM.
