Ronald "R.C." "Red" McDonald

June 22, 1926 — March 8, 2016

Ronald “R.C.” “Red” McDonald, 89, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 2016, at a local nursing home. Born June 22, 1926, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Chester and Margaret (Hintz) McDonald. After graduating high school, Red faithfully served his country during WW II in the US Army. He then attended St. Norbert College and graduated from Marquette University as a professional engineer. Red married Sharon McHugh on Feb. 15, 1958, at St. Bernard Church and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2004. Red was an original member of the Stadium Commission through the construction of Lambaeu Field in 1957 serving as Vice President for 20 years.He retired as president of McDonald Lumber and Warehousing in 1972. The family then moved to Marco Island, FL in 1975 where Red was owner/broker of R.C. Real Estate and owner of McDonald Jewelers . Red will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family.

Red is survived by his three children, Ron, Jr. (Lori) McDonald, Tennessee, Lisa Harris and Terry (Tracy) McDonald, all of Green Bay; eight wonderful grandchildren, Kyle (Jess) McDonald, Kristen McDonald, Michael (Jackie) Wienckowski, Michael McDonald, Jamie Harris, Cameron Harris, Jessica Stern McDonald, and Joshua McDonald; four beautiful great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brooke, and Benjamin Wienckowski and Marissa McDonald; one brother, Robert H. (Joni) McDonald, Brussels; two sisters-in-law, Ardith McDonald, Mountain, Wendy Smetana, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years, Sharon; granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Harris; two brothers, Chester, Jr. (Sally) McDonald and James McDonald; and two sisters, Aura (Earl) Blesser and Shirley (Bill) Howerton.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Saturday, from 9am until the time of the funeral. Funeral 11am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Collette Gould, Chaplain with Heartland Hospice, and Rev. Leanne Hansen officiating followed by military honors. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
