Robert David Moore

Robert David Moore passed away at home September 24th. He was born May 10, 1936, in Sturgeon Bay to Edward and Iva (Claflin) Moore. Bob graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1954. He married Barbara Holmes Sept. 22, 1956, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Bob spent his career in transportation, starting in Iron Mountain, MI. When the company merged with one in Green Bay, forming Wisconsin Michigan Coaches, he became the Traffic Manager and eventually a partner in the company. It was through the affiliation with the bus company that Moore Fun Tours was formed.

Bob was an Army veteran and a member of the Amvets. He enjoyed living on the bay, feeding the birds and squirrels, and cooking. Bob loved family gatherings and was appointed chef at all the family functions.

He was proud of his Irish heritage as a descendant of Increase Claflin, the first white settler in Door County. Bob enjoyed a visit to Ireland with his mother and sister.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; children, Robert (Karin) Moore, Craig Moore (friend Kim Dunn), Marjorie Witynski, and Melanie (Steve) Yelmene; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Craig) Tlusty, Ryan Moore, Matthew Moore, Buddy Giguere, Kyle Yelmene, Sara (Connor) Verri, John Witynski, Ian Mc Donald; great grandchildren, Benjamin Moore and Lydia Tlusty.

Robert is further survived by his siblings, sister, Karen (Chuck) Townsend and brothers, Kenneth (Jane) Moore, Tom (Maryann) Moore, Mike (Carol) Moore, and Tim Moore; in-laws, Paula and Dan Homuth, Pam Marsh, Nancy and Dick De Cono, and Phillip and Barbara Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Iva Moore; sisters, Maureen Sawyer and Elaine Klaubauf; brothers, Edward, John, James, Dale, and Daniel; son-in-law, James Witynski and in-laws, David Marsh, Dan and Mary Grace.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home 701 N. Baird St. Tuesday September 27, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 11 AM with Fr. Douglas Leonhardt S.J. officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

The Moore Family extends a sincere thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Dialysis Center for their care during the eight years Bob was receiving dialysis.
