Robert "Bob" C. Kurowski, 62, Green Bay, caught his final train home to the heavens late Wednesday evening, March 19, 2014. Born on September 17, 1951, in Green Bay, he is the son of Madeleine (Schirk) and the late Carl Kurwoski. Bob was a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School. He worked at James River Paper Mill, before retiring in 2000. Bob will be remembered most for his love and compassion for trains, being a railroad historian, and his dedicated work with the model railroader club.
Bob is survived by his mother and step-father, Madeleine (Harold) Wolf, Sturgeon Bay; seven brothers and sisters, Carol (Jim) Charles, Sturgeon Bay, Steve Kurowski, Green Bay, Susan Martin, Canada, Jerry Kurowski, Alabama, Kathy Beth, Texas, Eric (Sandy) Kurowski, Sobieski, and Dean "D.J." (Grace) Kurowski, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Jan Turrittin, Green Bay; three "kids" (cats), Alvin, Simon, and Theodore; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Kurowski; and his father, Carl Kurowski.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Saturday (3/29) from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service. Memorial Service 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Bong officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
