Robert P. Desmarais

Robert P. Desmarais, 89, Green Bay, passed away Monday morning, October 6, 2014. Born February 1, 1925, in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace (Dalton) Desmarais. Robert married the former Ellen Johnson on January 20, 1946. He faithfully served in the US Air Force during WWII as a pilot and retired from his military career in the Air Force Reserve as a Major. Robert was a graduate of UW-Stout and taught in Kenosha for over 30 years. After retirement, the couple moved to Green Bay in 1990. While in retirement, they also enjoyed warm winters in Florida where they spent many hours playing golf and bowling. Robert will be remembered for his gardening, outstanding woodworking ability and most importantly, for his caring, nurturing nature.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ellen; four children and their spouses, Jeanellyn (John) Schwarzenbach of Green Bay, David (Juanita) Desmarais of Seneca, SC, Robert Alan (Nadine) Desmarais of Oak Creek, and Donna (John) Puffer of Brookfield; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Henry) Castonguay of Nashua, NH; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph (Nancy) Desmarais of Little Rock, AR; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

A private family service of his life will be held at Age Well for Life Enrichment in Green Bay.
