Richard J. Dix

December 5, 1944 — July 19, 2015

Richard J. Dix, 70, Green Bay, peacefully passed away at home, Sunday evening, July 19, 2015. Born December 5, 1944, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Fred and Libby (Nooyen) Dix. Richard is a graduate of East High School, Class of ’64. He married Barbara Bosse on March 4, 1967, at First Lutheran Church. Richard was a manager at Frank and Pat’s for a few years before beginning his career at Leicht Transfer and Storage as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years, serving from 1968 and retiring in 2000. Richard was a member of Teamster’s Local #75 and was also a proud member of the NRA. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Richard truly enjoyed stock car racing and also worked on pit crews. In recent years, he has been very supportive of his son’s racing career. Richard was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, including, the Badgers, Packers and Brewers.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara; three children: Rick Dix of Green Bay, Mike (Lisa Paulsen) Dix of Sobieski, and Tina Dix of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Richard Thomas, Michael David, and Alicia Rose; two sisters, Donna (Robert) Hendricks of Green Bay and Betty (Ronald) Counard of Green Bay; three brothers-in-law, William (Kathy) Bosse of Dyckesville, Roland (Terri) Bosse of Green Bay and Raymond (Mary) Bosse of Suamico; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Bosse of Green Bay, Carol Bosse of De Pere; his canine companion, Betsy; further survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Barb’s parents, Carl and Hildegarde Bosse; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Bosse and Denis Bosse.

Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Wed. July 22nd, from 9am until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 11am Wed. at the funeral home with Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

Richard’s family extends a special thank you to the caring doctors and staff of Aurora BayCare; the compassionate “911” responders; and to Kendra, Richard’s caregiver.
