Raphael "Ray" Laes

Raphael “Ray” Laes, 79, Green Bay, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at home. Born in Green Bay, February 25, 1937 he is the son of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Van Roy) Laes. He married the former Sharon Zuidmulder in December of 1961 and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2009. Ray served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He retired from the Green Bay Public School System as a Senior AV Technician. Ray enjoyed photography, music, his swimming pool, and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his children, Steve (Sharon) Laes of Fox Crossing, Jerry (Salena) Laes, and Craig (Justine) Laes all of De Pere; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Bennett, Marissa, Megan, Craig II, Brett and James; sisters, Betty Laes, Molly (Jack) LaViollette, Sherry Mero and Mary Coty all of Green Bay, Bonnie (Dan) Hall of Florida; brothers, Jimmy (Patty) Laes, Bobby Laes and David Laes all of Green Bay; and many caring nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brianna; brothers, Earl, Larry, Joseph and Carl; sisters, LaVerne and Donna.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 3:00 PM.
