Pamella J. Melendy

Pamella J. Melendy, 92, Green Bay, passed away Thursday morning, August 25, 2022, at a local memory care facility. Born February 23, 1930, in Milwaukee, she is the daughter of the late Edgar and Violet (Sweet) Timm. Pam's early childhood was spent in Wisconsin Rapids before moving to Wausau. She graduated from Wausau High School. Pam then attended and graduated from UW-Milwaukee receiving a degree in Art Education. She moved to Green Bay in 1953 to teach art in the public schools. It was in Green Bay that she met her future husband, Robert L. Melendy, and the couple was wed on August 21, 1954, in Wausau. Together the couple started their young family. After leaving the public school system, she was active in various activities including her practice of art therapy at Brown County Mental Health Center. Pam also volunteered at Bellin Hospital, Oneida Cultural Heritage Center, and was involved with assisting many of the inmates at Fox Lake Correctional Institute. She enjoyed spending time with the family at the cottage. Pam will be remembered for her joy of traveling. She and Bob loved vacations with their young children and grandchildren. Bob preceded her in death on April 12, 2018.

Pam was very active in the art community in Green Bay including painting, macramé, sewing, knitting, crocheting, miniatures for dollhouses, and enjoyed reading.

Pam became a member of the Baha'i faith in August of 1961. She served in many capacities including teaching children's classes, and serving on the Green Bay Local Spiritual Assembly. Through her faith she believed that the future of the human race is bright and holds peace and prosperity for all humankind. She believed that all of humanity is a member of one race and that the Faith was a wonderful unifier of all faiths.

Pam is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Melendy and Mary Ducas, Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Garcia and Joel Garcia-Treviño, Rockport, TX; five grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Vande Walle, Christopher (Cynthia) Melendy, Sarah Melendy (Clint Rettler), Alexander Garcia (partners, James Belmont and Nick Juris) and Brianna Garcia; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Charlotte, Oren, Penelope and Josephine; one brother, Henry Timm, Sister Bay; brothers and sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Robert.

Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Monday, August 29, 2022, from 3-6pm. Funeral Service 6pm at the funeral home. Burial in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
