Matthew J. Thomas, 52, Green Bay, died peacefully at a local hospital on May 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 2, 1962, in Berlin, Wis., he is the son of Audrey (Paral) and the late Winford Thomas. Matthew was a loving father, son, and brother, with a kind and generous heart, who loved to share his natural-born gifts. He was extremely talented at everything that he did in life and had a passion for writing and performing music, and making people laugh. Next to his family, one of his greatest achievements was the work that he did at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, especially the creation of the Wall of Honor to pay tribute to America’s Military Veterans.
Matthew is survived by his loving children, Logan Thomas, Nashville, TN, Beau Thomas, and Audrey Jane Thomas, both of Green Bay; mother, Audrey Thomas, Green Bay; four sisters, Karen (Tony Gaines) Thomas, Green Bay, Kathi (Gil) Wright, Town of Scott, and their children, Ben, Eric, and Lydia, Jill Kahovec, Green Bay, and her son, Daniel, and Judi (Randy) Korth, Green Bay; many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; mother of Matt’s children, Jane Brzezinski; and Clay and Bernadette Aumann.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Ann Froelich, Pastoral Associate officiating.
