Mary Sevcik

March 4, 1948 — March 20, 2021

Mary (Hessel) Sevcik, 73, Green Bay, passed away March 20, 2021. Born on March 4, 1948, she was born and raised in Kewaunee, WI, the daughter of the late Arnold and Laura Hessel. Mary attended Holy Rosary Grade School and Kewaunee High School. She married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Sevcik on July 6, 1968, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mary and Ken then moved to Green Bay where they started their family. She began her career in the 1980s in banking and worked her way up retiring as a Vice President of Securities at M & I Bank. Mary and Ken were lifetime members of St. Bernard Catholic Church, and she volunteered her time and talents for over fifty years at the church. She participated in many committees such as Social Justice, NEW Community Shelter Meal, and Seder Meal. The committee closest to her heart was the Altar and Rosary Society, where she participated with so many other wonderful women. Mary's favorite volunteer project for over twenty years chairing the annual fundraiser, St Bernard's Christmas Luncheon and Auction Boutique. Mary enjoyed traveling and seeing the world and loved the times spent on family vacations. She loved crafting, art projects, and spending time with all of her family—especially the grandchildren. Mary was also an avid dog lover, namely to her Golden Doodle, Winston.

Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ken; two children, Chad (Renee) Sevcik and their children, Miranda, and Savannah; Jennifer (Brett) Kennedy and their children, Morgan and Patrick; sister, Linda Costello; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kim (Craig) Schuetz, Diane (Ray) Korinek, Yvonne Maccoux, Donald (Mary) Sevcik, David (Ann) Sevcik, Sister Patricia Sevcik, Gloria (Rodney) Cherney; many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Cummings; brother, Michael Hessel; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert Costello, Cletus Maccoux, Robert (Lynn) Sevcik; nephews, John Maccoux, Todd Cherney, Nathan Sevcik.

Visitation at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln., Thursday, March 25, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating.
