Mary "Joyce" Haworth

August 23, 1924 — January 23, 2016

Mary “Joyce” Haworth, 91, De Pere, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 23, 2016. Born Aug. 23, 1924, in Niagara, the eldest of six children, she is the daughter of the late Fred and Angeline (Meyer) Payette. Joyce married David Haworth and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2001. Joyce had many jobs in her life, including bartending for her long-time friend at Snowballs in West De Pere, and working at the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, where she taught herself to use a computer at the age of 70. Joyce had a love of puzzles, crosswords, and word search (the more complex the better). She also loved BINGO. Earlier in life she enjoyed Scrabble, and playing trivia games with her children and grandchildren. Joyce also had a passion for reading everything, especially the Bible. A highlight of her life was being a member at Bridge Point Church, which brought her great joy. Joyce’s greatest pride in life was her family.

Joyce is survived by nine children and their spouses, Fred (Yvonne) Haworth, De Pere, and Bill (Donna) Haworth, Green Bay, Mary (Ken) Lotto, Green Bay, Anne (Jim DeMille) Quinette, Crivitz, Susan (Cliff) Mertz, Crivitz, Jeanne (Jeff) Peterson, Bangor, Deborah (Gary) Van De Hei, Denmark, Ruth (Bill) Hinkforth, West Milwaukee, and Diane (Mike) Hart, Caledonia; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Ness, Gillett.

She is preceded in death by one son, David Haworth; two brothers, Edward and Earl Payette; two sisters, Betty Martell and Joan VanBoxel; parents; and step-father, Walter VanBoxel; one son-in-law, Glen Quinette; and her former husband, David Haworth.
