Marvin Kaiver, 83, Green Bay, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 at a local nursing home with his family by his side. He was born in De Pere, WI, on August 30, 1930 to the late Bernard and Marie (Carter) Kaiver, and he graduated from De Pere High School in 1948. On November 28, 1953 he married the late Dolores Vercauteren. Marvin proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989. He was an avid Packers fan and loved camping, especially out West. But more then anything he was a family man. He and Dolores not only raised their eight children but also provided a safe and happy home for forty-five foster children.
He is survived by his children, Leon (Carol DeGrave) Kaiver of Suamico, Judy (Denny) Augustine of Green Bay, Barbara (Paul) Van Rite of Green Bay, Mary Jo (Jeff) Bunker of Appleton, Bernie (Janet) Kaiver of Orlando , FL, David Kaiver of Green Bay, and Michael Kaiver of Cecil; special foster son, Wesley Brooks of Green Bay; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Barry, and Kathleen Montoure.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores; two sons, Thomas and Robert; sister, Lila and brother Lloyd “Barney”.
Visitation at Malcore East Funeral Home 701 N. Baird St Wednesday, May 28, from 9 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
