Linda M. Kurtz

February 5, 1964 — July 22, 2018

Linda M. Kurtz, 54, Algoma, formerly of Green Bay, passed away Sunday morning, July 22, 2018, at a local care facility in Green Bay. Born Feb. 5, 1964, in Eagle River, WI, she is the daughter of the late Michael and Betty (Mealy) Kurtz.

Linda was a 1982 graduate of Northland Pines High School. From there she attended college in Stevens Point and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry. Years later she obtained her Master’s degree in counseling from UW Milwaukee. She worked for the Department of Natural Resources, Army Corp of Engineering, and Mi-Tech.

Linda loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, gardening, kayaking and anything outdoors. She was very talented at drawing and doing crafts. Linda was also known to tackle many home improvement projects. She always looked forward to her annual Packer game with family. Linda loved spending time with family and friends and in her down time enjoyed reading. Linda will be remembered for her strong will, determination, quick wit and love for nature. Linda was very passionate about the immense beauty of the Great Lakes. She spent a large amount of her time on the shores of the Great Lakes including a circle trip of Lake Superior.

Linda is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Debora and Michael Heyroth, Gail Kurtz and her friend, Dan Gates and Cindy and Brian VanDenHeuvel; one nephew, Tanner VanDenHeuvel; and two nieces Oliva VanDenHeuvel and Faith Heyroth.

She was preceded in death by her father; Michael Kurtz.

Visitation at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 341 Wilson Ave. Green Bay, WI from 10am Friday, August 3, 2018, until the time of the memorial service at 11am.

Malcore (West) Funeral Home is serving the family.

Linda’s family extends a special “Thank You” to Linda’s many friends who were by her side during her final illness.
