Karen J. Collins

Karen J. Collins, age 80, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully Monday, November 5, 2018, with her family by her side after confronting Alzheimer’s for over 10 years. She was born on February 15, 1938 in Green Bay to the late Martin and Charlotte (Lyman) Deprey. Karen married her true love, Donald Collins, on September 26, 1959. She belonged to Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and The Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She was a strong, caring woman who centered her life around her family. She was active as a volunteer and attended all of her children and grandchildren’s performances and athletic events until she was unable to.

Karen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don Collins; four children: Tracy (Abe Axelson) Collins, Beth (Glen) Flynn, Loni (Ted) Skubal and Amy (Judd) Miller; eight grandchildren: Nicole, Alisha, Benjamin, Daniel, Quinn, Aaron, Colin, and Hanna; one great-grandson, Mason; four siblings: Connie Letourneau, Wayne Deprey, Jim (Mary) Deprey, and Ron Deprey; and four sister-in-laws: Joyce LaPlante, Gerilyn Deprey, Jeri Deprey and Mary Deprey.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Donald Deprey, Jeanne (Merlin) Cartier, Ceil (Robert) Patzke, Melvin Deprey, Larry (Kathy) Deprey, Danny Deprey, Mary Ann (Dale) Prochaska and Tom Deprey; brother-in-law, Royal Letourneau; and other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St, Green Bay, on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Additional visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird St, Green Bay. Karen will be laid to rest at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
